Innerwick Village Hall
We thought it would be good to provide an update following on from our recording day at Innerwick Village Hall. Refurbishment works have now begun and the removal of modernĀ linnings has revealed some lovely internal details. The base of the original steel roof trusses were visible beneath the insulated ceiling (VB 48 p93) and these have now been revealed in their entirety. The small back room had vertical tongue and groove paneling on all the walls, but it has since been shown to extend throughout the hall. A particularly nice feature is painted detail behind the stage area that forms a backdrop.
The renovation works aim to retain as much of this original detail as possible with insulation fitted behind. Thanks to Angus Campbell of Innerwick Parish Welfare for supplying the photo. We will provide a further update and more photos once work is complete.
